A macaw is a bird that needs a great deal of discipline and a highly structured and busy lifestyle in order for it to grow into a well-adjusted pet. These are large birds that need large cages and owners that have a great deal of time.

Hyacinth Macaw is the longest parrot in the world, reaching a massive 100 centimeters in length. As their name implies, are covered with bright blue plumage, they are also called Blue Macaw. They have bare yellow eye-ring circles around large black eyes, a yellow chin, a strongly hooked beak, and feet (2 toes that point forward and 2 toes that point backward). Hyacinth Macaw has a lifespan that can also be up to 70 years if proper care is provided. The elongated body of the Hyacinth macaw reaches about 37″ (95 cm) in length and it has an impressive wingspan up to about 42″ across, which is the most expansive parrot in the world. But the Hyacinth is not all that hefty, it only weighs up to about 3.7 lb (1.7 kg).
The beautiful Hyacinth macaw is pretty as all blue large Macaw. The rich cobalt blue of its coloring is what influenced its name. It is a calm Macaw and known to make an excellent pet. Hyacinth Macaws has a very even temperament. They are sweet, extremely gentle, and are not inclined to make a great deal of noise. They are affectionate and playful and become quite attached to their human families.
